Rosen College of Hospitality Management

Orlando is a world-class meeting and vacation destination with more than 70 million visitors annually. Conventions, theme parks, shopping, dining, and Florida’s beautiful nature attract people from all over the world, including aspiring professionals wanting a career in the hospitality industry. Harris Rosen was once in these young professional’s shoes, literally following his father’s footsteps as he worked in New York City’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The time Mr. Rosen spent as an “understudy” with his father helped educate Mr. Rosen on quality hospitality service. Mr. Rosen would later move on to study at Cornell University.

In Florida Harris Rosen helped set up an educational environment in the heart of Central Florida’s tourism district. In a partnership with the University of Central Florida, Harris Rosen donated $26 million to fund the purchase of land adjacent to Rosen Shingle Creek® off, a sister property of Rosen Centre®. The monetary donation also helped with construction of the school and scholarships, which the latter are still distributed to this day to students in need.

Most important about the college’s location is its proximity to many hotels, including the family of Rosen Hotels. After completing classroom studies and laboratories, students move onto some of the most sought-after internships in the country. The success rate of this program reflects in the job placement rate of graduates, currently at 97 percent. CEOWORLD Magazine ranked the Rosen College of Hospitality and Management second in the world by. Current enrollment hovers close to 3,500, which is a huge increase from 400 when its doors first opened.
