Everglades is proud to feature the acclaimed wines from Justin and Landmark Vineyards on our wine list and for our May Vine & Dine wine pairing dinner event. JUSTIN Winery is a family owned and operated winery making estate grown and produced wines. The property was founded in 1981 by Justin Baldwin when he planted the 160 acre property in the Paso Robles appellation of California’s Central Coast with the major Bordeaux varietals and created their Estate vineyard. Justin has focused his efforts on producing world class Bordeaux style blends from the estate vineyards for the JUSTIN label. Justin is a pioneer in producing this style of wine on the Central Coast and his efforts have been rewarded with past and present vintages earning 90+ points by the major wine trade publications. Other notable recognition has come with the coveted Pichon Lalande trophy for “World’s Best Blended Red Wine” and Wine Spectators Top 10 Wines of the World. Justin has consistently earned the praise of the wine press with recognition from the likes of Robert M. Parker Jr. naming Justin Baldwin one of his “Wine Heroes of the Year” and the “Star of Paso Robles”, the James Beard Foundations “Great American Winemaker Award”, Quarterly Review of Wine’s “Top 3 Cabernet Producers of the Year”, and Wine Enthusiast’s “Top Cabernet and Blended Wine Producers List” for seven years running. “To belong in the company of the finest wines in the world” is both a mission statement and an operating creed for Justin Winery. The prime focus is on a “left bank” Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, named ISOSCELES; JUSTIFICATION, it’s “bank” Merlot and Cabernet Franc cousin; and varietal bottlings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Everglades is featuring the Justin Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Savant Red Blend (Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon) and Obtuse port on our wine list.
Landmark Vineyards was founded in 1974 in Windsor, CA and was relocated in 1989 to a spectacular piece of land at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in the Sonoma Valley. Landmark became a small jewel of a winery and was built in the Spanish mission style. The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment capable of producing 20,000 cases of wine per year. With the help of renowned Landscape architect, Morgan Wheelock, Landmark Vineyards developed into a lush, gorgeously landscaped wine estate. In 1993 world-renowned consulting enologist Helen Turley was hired to work with then winemaker Eric Stern. The collaboration led to excellent winemaking and under Eric’s direction, Landmark’s wines consistently garnered rave reviews from wine writers. Their signature wine, the Overlook Chardonnay, has appeared on The Wine Spectator Top 100 list 7 times since 1997. We are proud to feature the Landmark Overlook Chardonnay and Landmark Grand Detour Pinot Noir on our wine list. Landmark’s mission is “to make great wines that enhance the joy of life.”
